What better way to celebrate your birthday than on stage performing your hits, surprise performances from your celeb rapper friends and thousands of screaming fans during the premiere music festival in America? Mr. Bun B has one heck of an event planner.
On March 21, Bernard Freeman, better known to the world as Bun B, 1/2 of the legendary Houston rap duo, UGK, celebrated his born day at Stubb’s BBQ (home of the best BBQ sauce EVER) with performances from his catalog of classics. Bun B turned 42 two days prior and with repeated expressions of love in memory of UGK’s fallen hero, Pimp C, he rapped a few of the group’s hits like “Big Pimpin'” and “Int’l Players Anthem.” Artists that came out on stage for surprise performances included Big K.R.I.T., Too Short, Houston favorite Devin the Dude, Joey Bada$$, ASAP Rocky and other upcoming artists like Queens-bred Grafh and DC rapper Young Fre$h. Rumors of Kanye West and Drake making a cameo appearance proved to be untrue, but nevertheless a great time was had in the company of one of the best rappers of the South and a “Trill OG.”
